where this kid has no problem being a kid

it's that time again. where all the crazy Judd relatives load up and head to California for a week-long stay with 80 people at a beach house. there is never a dull moment.
first on the agenda...take over the world! or at least Chuck-E-Cheese.
Camden went a little nuts. it could have been from being locked up in the car the day before, or maybe the other 20+ kids under the age of 8 that he calls cousins and all that energy combined, either way it was love at first slide.

he honestly moved so fast that all the photo documentation i have is of the top or back of his head. i guess i just need to get a little faster...

bank friends and cotton candy

a beautiful night for a soccer game.
i love RSL games-- the atmosphere of die-hard fans, running into old friends, the sunset in the background, the delicious smell of candied nuts. wonderful.
seeing Tawnia makes me miss our girl time at the bank.
Tawnia, Stacy and I reviewed books, talked about dreams of houses, i learned that Tooele is not pronounced "toolie", we rocked out to some awesome music (Journey) and not so awesome music (Neil Diamond), we discussed fashion, purses, food, in-laws, and a few hopes and dreams in there.
girl time is essential. RSL games bring some of that...ironically, but i love it!

Oh, the places you'll go

this picture kills me. my husband is a NERD.
and always good for a laugh.
fortunately for him, he has a cute family.
including Laura Lee, who just graduated from high school!
what did we do to celebrate? stuffed ourselves with awesome seafood, of course!
attending Laura's graduation brought back a lot of fun memories of my own high school graduation. i am so lucky to have had such great friends... we had a lot of good times! and the best part is, we've kept in touch, and they are still some of my closest friends.
Congratulations Laura!

{and i know you'll choose a good one, because that's just how awesome you are}

{London's} Birthday Party

Happy Birthday London!
kid grow up way too fast. they are like run away trains...
ok, maybe not exactly, but i now feel old.
especially because 2 years ago, i watched this little girl enter this world.
she is a feisty one. and we like her!
the birthday festivities included...
helping open and play with new toys
eating delicious food. (grilled by Ryan!)
giving the birthday girl lots of smooches.
seeing friends.
decorating.
piecing together the tedious, but oh so perfect balloon banner
and more playing.
we also enjoyed the wonderful refreshment of chilled Izze drinks, and a yummy red velvet cake!
happy to be wishing London a birthday party full of fun, and her parents congratulations on another year! sure do love this family :)

Like his Mom

the boy likes sweets.
i wouldn't say he is quite to the spoonfuls of frosting level, but i have no doubt that the apple didn't fall far from the tree on this one.
and now that "a bite" has become part of his vocabulary, along with an irresistible "peeze", the fight was over before it began.

now i have someone to share my dessert passion with :)

Laid Back

Memorial Day was nice and relaxing.

Pretty much Camden entertained us the entire day.

We took him to see Kung Fu Panda 2-- and let me tell you, watching Camden's facial expressions and reactions (cheering, clapping, uh-oh, punching, etc.) were definitely the highlight. Not saying the movie wasn't good, because it was, Camden was just that cute :)

After getting our fix of kung fu, we headed to the farm.

This kid knows exactly what to do at the farm.

He walked right up to pet the sheep, (all the while making "baaa" noises) then off to feed the pigs, ride on the tractor, and off to swing.

After the farm, we helped Stacy take a break from studying and had dinner... I may or may not have spilled her salad all over the floor. And although Camden would not sit still, and there was salad all over the floor, it was a nice way to end such a relaxing day :)

Wedding Bells

Lourie and Brian tied the knot!

We had a fun weekend with Mike, Regan, and Everett as house guests (I love being a hostess!)

We got to enjoy a wonderful dinner at LaCaille, and brave the huge gusts of wind!

Camden had fun playing with Paloma (Brian's son's little girl)

She is just a few months younger, and they became instant friends!

Paloma couldn't quite walk yet, so Camden decided to take it down a level and crawl beside her, it was pretty cute
The Embley crowd. (The winds had me channeling Marilyn Monroe, if you couldn't tell)

Camden wanted to hold Grandma's hand the entire time...so a lot of the pictures are of the happy couple, and Camden

Congratulations! It was a fun day
