hot tub, hot dogs, and baseball

Camden wasn't exactly sure how he felt about the California ocean, but he loved the hot tub! He and Everett could have spent hours in that thing--
We also caught a baseball game while we were there... As always, complete with hot dogs :)

Disney day 1

Oh, the joy! Honestly, I'm always just as excited for Disneyland as any of the little kids-- but this year, I think Camden had me beat!
We got to ride the Peter pan ride twice in a row because the girl running the ride thought Camden was so cute. We spent plenty of time on the Buzz Lightyear ride-- and when we met Tinker Bell, Camden went in for a big hug! The California Adventure splash park was perfect to cool us off and rest our feet-- and Camden almost pulled the sword from the stone :)
What a day--

a celebratory evening

Ryan's annual birthday celebration consists of a trip to park city for (outlet) bday shopping, dinner at Maxwell's, the alpine coaster, and treats at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Finish it off with kids in bed and board games at home, and Ryan is one happy birthday boy! A pretty fabulous evening if you ask me :)

Milestones

Over here we are watching teeth sprout up, rolling over like a pro, trying out solid foods, and getting haircuts like its nobody's business. We are also trying our hand at potty training (shoot me now), developing a whole lotta attitude, and becoming master mimickers.
Turner is reaching milestones left and right! At 5 1/2 months, he's been rolling over for awhile-- he likes rolling one way better than the other, so he is constantly rolling the length of the room, ending at the wall, and crying in frustration until someone comes to flip him around. In the last week, 2 bottom teeth have popped up! And he's loving his carrots and sweet potatoes-- we are struggling with naps. Either he just likes 20 minute cat naps, or is used to being woken up by his older brother after 20 minutes, so doesn't know how to nap longer. Either way, I'm trying to figure out sleep training...
Other than that, I'm sure I have the happiest baby ever! He smiles at everyone, and is such an angel child.

As for Camden-- this kid kills me. He is so funny one minute, and a little hellian the next. He has become quite the bargainer... And when I ask him to do something, or stop doing something, he immediately has a reason why he should/ not do that. Like when he took Turner out of his swing and I asked him if he is supposed to do that, he told me that Turner wanted to get out and play. Or when Camden wakes Turner up from a nap, Camden tells me that Turner had a good nap and was no longer sleepy.
He also does things like kisses me on the cheek and says "bye sweetheart" when I ask where he is going he says "to work" where? "waterford, just like my daddy"
A master mimicker, that one. Which is cute and totally terrifying at the same time. I guess I make deals a lot, and end questions with ok-- because that is his newest thing. He is also constantly telling me "the plan". Oy. Maybe I'm the one who needs to be better behaved!

It's almost here

Summer is coming to an end, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. It's all a little bittersweet, really. I love the sporadic, carefree days of summer, but after a few months of that, I totally crave the scheduled, planned out days of fall. I'm a ridiculous list person, and I love putting my calendar together and color coding it just right... Lame, I know, but that's exactly what I've been doing lately. "back to school" time has always been a better time to set goals for me than at new years... So between planning and goaling, my free time has been all taken up!
Plus, you can't deny that crisp autumn days, football Saturdays, and layered fashion give fall the upper hand against all other seasons :)
Here's to fall!

Lookin' fine at 29

Today the love of my life turns 29.

Pretty sure he is the kindest, most genuine, amazing person I've ever met. (and if you don't want to hear me brag about my husband, bug off and read some other blog)
He is sweet and sensitive, hardworking, and a whole lotta fun-- he is such a great dad. I hope my boys turn out just like him... (with a few of my organization skills, but other than that, just like their daddy! ;)

Happy Birthday, Ry! I love you-- good thing eternity is a long time :)

Our day in San Diego

(back to the Judd family trip)

Unfortunately, this was the day I started feeling super crappy... I was sick the rest of the trip, all manageable with the right dose of DayQuil, but this day was just plain awful. Hence the horrible attempt at capturing the day... It's hard to keep up and take pictures when you're lagging 3 steps behind.

We started at the Mormon battalion museum-- a tour, picture, gold mining, brick laying or tower building (depending on who you ask). Then headed to old town for a soda tasting contest, delicious fish tacos, and old fashioned candy stores.
The battleship was next. We meandered around the flight deck, and checked out the planes. Then Ryan and I decided to do the 3 minute fighter jet simulation. Coming from someone who doesn't usually get motion sickness, it was 3 minutes too long.
After the battleship, we met our friends Josh and Megan Orr for dinner. I wish I world have taken pictures-- Megan was the baby whisperer, and cuddled an exhausted Turner until he fell asleep. It was so sweet :)
