One Fun Day

My parents came to visit the Monday after Christmas...

Camden was excited to see his "Idaho Grandparents"

And show them all his new toys.

On their way out of town, we met downtown and had lunch at Siegfried's German Deli.

My dad served his mission in Germany. Bratwurst and Sauerkraut are no strangers.

That night we were invited to see the Jazz take on the Blazers from the second row.
Ryan's friend, Ryan Pelo, was in town and invited us to sit with them.

It was awesome!

DWill, Raja Bell, and Matthews all in the same picture? Yes, please.
Days like this are why I love Christmas break.

Christmas Continued

For Christmas Brunch we headed over to the Embley's
Camden's squeaky shoes were a hit--many a laugh over those little things...
Especially when he realized they squeak when he walks, and he began doing this funny little dance/stomp.
Pretty sure he has the coordination of his dad...
Brunch was delicious.
We were so excited when our Korean friends (Young and Henna) surprised us by driving all the way from California just to spend a few hours with us on Christmas!
Camden is a big Santa fan. He even says "ho ho ho"

After brunch, Ryan and I had many volunteers to babysit, so we went to a movie.
When we came home, this is what we found...

I guess all the commotion and excitement wore him out.
Christmas was wonderful.
So wonderful that he couldn't take any more :)

We like to Party

Gotta love Christmas Parties!
Who doesn't?
Every year we get together with some friends and do yummy dinner, white elephant gifts, and games... every year something crazy happens.
It is legen...wait for it...dary.

The kiddos loved their BIG stuffed Bears from the Summerhays'...

almost as much as they loved holding each others' hands.

The boys loved the ping-pong-ball-into-the-cup game.

The girls loved beating the boys at catch phrase.

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!!!
I love Christmas. snow. music. lights. gifts. parties. santa. movies. food. decorations. the tree.
traveling. family. love. smiles. service. warmth. CHRIST.
This year, we spent Christmas with the Judd family.
Christmas morning began with this...
We brought Camden downstairs and he squatted down next to the gifts and just stared.
Oh, the wonder of Christmas!
After the inital shock of brand new toys wore off, he attacked the goods.
I don't think he quite knew what was going on, but he sure was excited!
Watching his face was awesome. Best Christmas morning. Ever. Hands down.
After we opened presents from Santa, we headed to Lourie's, then Charles'...

T'was the Night Before Christmas

Christmas Eve 2010
We began the day meeting for brunch with Ryan's friends from high school.
We ate at this yummy restaurant.
Since everyone is all spread out (Utah, Chicago, California, D.C., London, Arizona) we really only get to see each other a few times a year...
We hope to see them all again soon when we meet up in California this summer for
Josh and Megan's wedding--
Good food. Great People.
After brunch (and Camden's nap),
we headed up to Grandma Nelson's house in Kaysville.
We met Wendy, Jarom and Kayla (James was working) for presents, stories, goodies, and our Christmas Carol tradition!

Turns out having a kid makes you a hot commodity, so we made the rounds to

Lourie and Brian's Christmas Eve Party, then to Charles and Shauna's for "Santa" duties.

We also got to Skype with Bronson (Ryan's step-brother who is serving an lds mission in Korea).

Finally, we took our tired out little man home and put him to bed.

The After Party

So, Ryan was super sick during Camden's party, but didn't want to miss out on the celebration.
However, right after the party ended, I sent him to see the Doctor.
As it turned out, he had the flu, which later became an pnuemonia.
Yikes!
Poor guy took about 2 weeks to recover.
At least we started it off with a party! ha ha
(ok, bad joke. Poor sick husband.)

One year old

Happy Birthday Camden!
My child is officially 12 months.
Which means I start counting in years, and halves, and not in months...
and that means my baby is no longer a baby, but a toddler!
*tear*
1 year ago I was nervous, anxious and very very excited to meet him.
I knew life would never be the same.
I figured I would love being a mom... but really, I didn't realize I would love it this much.

At one year Camden...
is freaking adorable.
his favorite expression is still the "oh" face
he is walking/running around like crazy
he is the happiest, friendliest guy you'll ever meet
he makes friends with everyone, and flirts with all

(the cashiers at grocery stores just love his cheesy smile with accompanying wave)
he says dada, mama, moo, no, ball, yay
he dances to all music (including hymns and cell phone ringtones)
he is obsessed with elmo
he shakes his head "no" when I say his name sternly
he loves the bath tub and cries when he has to get out
he follows memo around everywhere
he loves sporting events and cheers, clamps, and boos...he even yells when other fans are yelling
he loves to eat...
I can not eat anything without him spitting out his binky and opening his mouth for a taste
he pets mommy's hair (sometimes lovingly, and sometimes not so lovingly)
he gives high-fives
he gives the sweetest kisses
he likes to wrestle with his dad and chase his parents around the house
he loves to point to things he would like a closer look at...
(in hopes you will take him to see it)
he likes to climb on things
he has a strange fascination with Mem's food
he makes us laugh daily
it is impossible to be in a bad mood around him because he is almost always smiling

At his 1 year check-up, he weighed in at 19 lbs-- the 10th %
And he is in the 50th % for height
He has grown so much since he was born...he was a mere 6 lbs 3 oz and 20 1/2 inches
not even on the charts for weight, and the 15 % for height

I still can't believe I have a kid as cute as this little guy!
(7 months)
I keep telling Ryan we can't have any more kids, because there is no way they could be as cute as Camden! :) Then that kid would have some sort of complex for the rest of his/her life...
(1 day old)
(2 months)(3 months)(8 months)(11 months)
